You see a fully functioning individual. You don’t see the insulin injections I needed to take today to stay alive. You see a smiling face, you don’t see the tears I shed out of pure frustration from the up and downs of blood sugars, despite trying to keep them within normal limits. You see someone who can make a disease look easy or effortless. You don’t see the low blood sugars, the nights I lay awake, the tiny pin holes on my fingertips, and the scars from the needles. You see someone that is alive and well. You don’t see all the battles and obstacles I had to overcome to get to this point. Share this for Type 1 Diabetes.
